About UsWe are a new company focused on making it is easier for families to make travel decisions. We want to help families find great answers to that question "What should we do for our vacation?" Our team has years of experience in both travel and the internet from leading companies including Yahoo, Hotels.com and Oracle. Together, we believe the internet can become as good a tool for deciding where to go as it is for booking a cheap plane ticket to get there. It can be as helpful in deciding what to do as it is for finding a great deal on a place to stay. Nothing beats real life experience. We believe it is important to reach out to real families to capture their experiences and allow them to share their insights with others. In return we want to support families by supporting the institutions that sustain and support them, such as schools, PTA's, sports leagues and clubs. Gene McKenna Gene is a frequent traveler-with-children who has taught a 4 year old to ski while a 1 year old slept on his back. With sixteen years of software design and development behind him, Gene excels at bringing together multi-disciplined teams of engineers, artists, salesmen and visionaries to make compelling, fun applications. Gene's background is in technology and product design. He earned a master's degree in Education at Stanford University in 1995 where he focused on how technology changes the way we teach, learn and work. Gene also serves as the editor of his neighborhood newspaper. Chuck Simmons Chuck Simmons has a great deal of online travel experience having worked at WorldRes.com from 1997 through 2002. Here he was instrumental in the engineering of the reservation engine, reservation web pages, and automated links to partners. Chuck also held engineering roles at Plaxo and Amdahl, and received two patents while working at Oracle. In his spare time, Chuck works on geometry problems and writes programs to play Othello. With three children, Chuck frequently finds himself pounding his head against the terminal in frustration as he tries to get good advice from the internet as to what to do with the kids on vacation. Allison Gregory With more than 10 years of product and design experience, Allison has spent the majority of her career translating consumer and business needs into easy to use functionality. A true team player, you will often find her rolling up her sleeves to pitch in wherever she is needed. She has founded successful start-ups in the past and found her love for travel working with Hotels.com. |
